Privacy Policy
Last updated: 8 September 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Aontas, Unipessoal Lda. ("we", "us", or "our") handles information across everything we offer: our website at www.aontas.pt (the "Site"), and our business management software — including accounting, task management, user administration, point-of-sale (POS), and integrations with third-party platforms such as Uber Eats (together, the "Services"). We keep things simple and collect only what we need.
Our role: controller and processor
Whether we are the "controller" or the "processor" of personal data depends on the context:
- We are the controller for data about our own visitors and clients — for example, Site analytics and the account details of the businesses and staff who use our Services.
- We are a processor when a business client uses our Services to run their operations. Data about that client's own customers — such as POS transactions and Uber Eats orders — is processed on the client's behalf and under their instructions. That client is the controller of their customers' data, and their own privacy policy governs how it is used. This policy describes our practices as their processor.
Information we collect
- Site analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how the Site is used — approximate location, device and browser type, pages viewed, and referral source — collected through cookies and similar technologies.
- Account and user data. When a business uses our Services, we collect the details needed to create and manage accounts and user access, such as names, email addresses, roles, and login credentials.
- Business and operational data. To provide the Services, we process the data our clients enter or generate, including accounting records, tasks, and staff information.
- POS and order data. Through the POS and integrations such as Uber Eats, we process transaction and order records on our clients' behalf. This may include order contents, amounts, timestamps, and limited customer details. Payment card details are handled by our clients' payment processors; we do not store full card numbers.
- Messages. If you email us at hello@aontas.pt, we receive your email address and whatever you include.
How we use it
We use this information to provide, operate, secure, and improve the Site and Services, to manage accounts and access, to understand our audience, and to respond to messages. When we act as a processor, we use client data only to deliver the Services and follow the client's instructions. We do not sell personal data.
Cookies
The Site uses cookies set by Google Analytics. You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings; the Site will still work. For more information, see Google's Privacy Policy.
Sharing
We share data only with the service providers and platforms that help us deliver the Site and Services — for example, Google (analytics), our hosting and infrastructure providers, payment processors, and integration partners such as Uber Eats. We may also disclose information where required by law. We do not otherwise share personal data with third parties.
Your rights
If you are in the European Economic Area, you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict its processing, to data portability, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Where we act as a processor on a business client's behalf, we will forward your request to that client, who is responsible for responding. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@aontas.pt.
Data retention
We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes described above, to provide the Services, and to meet our legal and accounting obligations. When we act as a processor, we retain and delete client data in line with our agreement with that client.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above.
